Windows 8 ready for mass production, gets leaked to File-Sharing sites
Windows 8 is ready. But we won’t see it until October.
Microsoft has given the thumbs up for Windows 8 to be mass produced. After the final tweaks were made, the final version of Windows 8 called Buils 9200 has been sent to manufacturing, called RTM(released to manufacturing). The first people to get Windows 8 will be developers and IT professionals that have subscriptions with MSDN and Technet. They will get their copy on August 15. Volume license manufacturers will get a copy on September 1.
There are a few people though who wanted to get a copy in advance. Illegally that is.
Reports show that the RTM version of Windows 8 has been leaked to file-sharing sites. Microsoft has yet to comment as to how the leak was made and who are the possible sources of the leak.
This Windows 8 version which is now circulating around the Internet as we speak doesn’t have Windows Media Player bundled with it.
Windows 8 is set to be released to the public on October 26.
