And the Apple rumors keep coming. After the iPad Mini, now rumor has it that Apple is planning to develop a downgraded version of the iPhone dubbed the iPhone Nano.

According to a Chinese website “China TImes”, there are plans for Apple to create an iPhone, dubbed the “iPhone Nano” for the low-end smartphone market. It will be smaller and cheaper than the current iPhone, and is rumored to be released this year.

How close is this Apple rumor to being reality? Experts say the odds are the same as finding a Sasquatch or El Dorado. Close to impossible.

Being a downscaled iPhone, the iPhone Nano would cause problems to both software developers and hardware manufacturers. Being accustomed to the high-end features of the standard iPhone, that would mean rewriting and optimizing code to compensate for the cheaper and possibly slower smartphone. It could also hurt Apple’s image, as a company known for suave, stylish and top-of-the-line computers and devices.
