T-Mobile CEO Philipp Humm resigns, jumping to Vodafone?
Mobile network operator T-Mobile USA has announced that its CEO Philipp Humm has resigned from his position in the company. Humm was with T-Mobile for two years before he announced his resignation. During that time, Humm’s role with T-Mobile was very vital especially when the company went through a difficult stretch, even weathering the bid made by AT&T.
René Obermann, CEO of T-Mobile‘s parent company Deutsche Telekom shared his take on Philipp Humm‘s resignation:
“Philipp Humm has given the company some important initiatives over the past years. Under his leadership the cost situation at T-Mobile USA has vastly improved and he led the company during a difficult phase regarding the planned merger with AT&T.”
Obermann however also divulged the reason why Humm resigned. Apparently to join T-Mobile‘s competitor, which is strongly believed to be Vodafone.
“The reason that Philipp has vacated his position at such short notice has to do with his new employer. To my surprise, he informed me a few days ago that he would be joining a competitor(Vodafone).”
