Samsung and Google teaming up to fight back Apple, Google’s Nexus 7 could be next battleground
As Samsung saw its Galaxy Tabs removed from store shelves due to the US ban obtained by Apple, many wondered what would be the company’s next move. Many of us know Samsung is still appealing the ruling of the US court. Now if any of you think that Samsung is going to take this latest hit from Apple simply sitting down, well think again. Coz Samsung is preparing to fight back. And it has a tag team partner, no other than Google.
Samsung has yet to provide details on how they will counterattack Apple, but the company has made it clear that they will do so, together with Google.
“It’s too early to comment on our game plan (with Google) in the legal battle; but we will do our best to get more royalties from Apple, which has benefited from our technology.”
Google meanwhile is facing its own set of patent problems, especially with its newly released Google Nexus 7. According to reports, there are some technologies being used by the Nexus 7 which could be subjected to patent lawsuits, particularly from Nokia. If Google doesn’t act soon, we might see the Google Nexus 7 as the next tablet getting banned from store shelves.
Google is counting on its partner Asus to help in acquiring the necessary rights to the patents currently used by the Google Nexus 7.
