“RIP Facebook” trending on Twitter

RIP Facebook among top trending on Twitter as of this posting.

Hollywood celebrities death hoax has always been a part of Internet trending, but when Twitter started to show trending topics of the day, it seems so easy to know what’s the latest buzz on the said micro-blogging site. Btw, I should also mentioned that there’s  Google’s Trends which shows top searches of the day or any selected date.

Now, back to RIP Facebook and death hoax, RIP + name of celebrityalways trends on Twitter at least more than 5 celebrities a month (based on personal observation).  BBC’s tech news has compiled Death by Twitter: Top three online celebrity hoaxes in which Charlie Sheen topped followed by Rock icon Bon Jovi and  Chinese actor Jackie Chan.

But in tonight’s top Twitter trending topic is RIP Facebook, apparently not a person nor Hollywood celebrity but a website and in fact the most prominent social networking site ever exists.

Here are some of the tweets I’ve shared here which shows support the non-existent of Facebook and some dislikes it.

RIP Facebook. Wait a minute, if facebook closes down, everybody will make a twitter! oh no my life is over.

Yeah man, Facebook‘s dead. RIP Facebook. Twitter killed you big time.

RIP Facebook life with out you will be so hard.

RIP Facebook ? Good riddens, that site ruins lives and relationships ANYway.

Many people seem worried that RIP Facebook would mean twitter would be full of annoying people. I have news for you: THEY’RE ALREADY HERE.

It was a mixed reactions on Twitter but of course it’s just a hoax or possibly an anti-Facebook campaign who didn’t like the Facebook’s Timeline perhaps?

Some Twitter users defined RIP as “Really Inspiring Person” just to correct the misleading tweets. Well, not all RIP + celebrity name was all hoax, RIP Whitney Houston last more than a day while some of her notable songs were also trending on that day.

To Facebook fan, don’t worry Facebook is still up as of this posting so don’t get bothered with RIP Facebook tweets, just continue re-tweeting them if you’re on Twitter..I mean just don’t mind and engage to that topic because it will just push the the topic up.
