Peter Pan, Wendy and Tinker Bell

Off to Neverland! I really can’t stop reminiscing cartoons I used to watch during my childhood. I’m back again with this cartoon characters stuff. If your age is still under 30 years old, chances are you have watch the Peter Pan which is one of the cartoons from the 90′s (not to mention its original released).  While reading Peter Pan’s entry at Wikiepedia, I was amazed to learn that the character Peter Pan already existed around 1902.

Exact Peter Pan I used to watch when I was in grade school

Here’s how Peter Pan was described in Wikipedia.

Peter is mainly an exaggerated stereotype of a boastful and careless boy. He is quick to point out how great he is, even when such claims are questionable (such as when he congratulates himself for Wendy’s successful reattachment of his shadow).

Peter has a nonchalant, devil-may-care attitude, and is fearlessly cocky when it comes to putting himself in danger. Barrie writes that when Peter thought he was going to die on Marooner’s Rock, he felt scared, yet he felt only one shudder run through him when any other person would have felt scared up until death. With his blissful unawareness of the tragedy of death, he says, “To die will be an awfully big adventure”.

Peter Pan back then was one of the reason I always rush going home in lunch time just to catch up the show. Even though some of the episodes were already repeated, I still enjoy watching it. I was always happy seeing Capt. Hook so afraid of the crocodile with a sounding clock while approaching. Most important characters of Peter Pan perhaps is Wendy and Tinker Bell, Wendy is of course the most significant support cast of the show. With a certain twist of love story between Peter and Wendy, who would not noticed it even though you were a child. It was so cute. Tinker Bell, the fairy that was always jealous and so protective to Peter.

That’s all folks! Oops, that’s Bugs Bunny’s line right?
