Google Doodle Today : Gustav Klimt’s 150th Birthday
In honor to Austrian symbolist Gustav Klimt on his 150th birth anniversary, Google pays tribute with a doodle depicting one of his more prominent works.
Above’s Google doodle represents “The Kiss,” Klimt’s painting of a couple kissing. Clicking the image from Google.com’s website will lead to search results about Gustav Klimt.
Gustav Klimt was born July 14, 1862 died on February 6, 1918 became prominent member of the Vienna Secession movement and spent most of his childhood in poverty and trained at the Vienna School of Decorative Arts.
According to this article on IBN Live noted ,
“The Kiss”, a 1907-08 oil and gold leaf on canvas painting, was Klimt’s most famous work – and one that many believe was Klimt’s only self-portrait.
Gustav Klimt was one of the victims Spanish flu during the 1918 flu pandemic which lead to his death in Vienna on February 6, 1918.
